Linxian Dialect Vocabulary Study

Recent decades, studies about dialect vocabulary haveprosperous, while studies over Linxian dialect words is little, only alittle some, also the study is far from sufficient in depth and width,full coverage and system. In my opion, this is a big opening of Linxiandialect words. Under these circumstance, this thesis attepts to studyLinxian dialect words with a comprehensive ,thorough and deepdiscuss.Papers about dialect vocabulary from Masters and Docters ofrecent years, associated words with sayings. In my idea, becausethe wheel of history have moved into the time of separating wordsfrom sayings, we should give up the old idea, and this thesis adoptsWen Duanzheng’idea of separating words from sayings, and onlystudies words not ayings；Also, the sound and the grammar werewritten into papers from Masters and Docters of recent years.Although the vocabulary have the characteristics of thepronunciation and the grammar,《Modern Chinese》(Huang Borongand Liao Xudong) ascribes them into the parts of the pronunciationand the grammar, so, in my suggestion, the scope of the vocabularystudy from those papers is not rigorous. This thesis does not involvein the study of the pronunciation and the grammar.The paper describes and analyses Linxian dialect words itselffrom the static and the dynamic points of view, compareing it with Mandarin Chinese, to intend to reveal the characeristics of Linxiandialect words and its evolution regularities.Besides, investing theculture in the dialect vocabulary and digging the rich culture heritageare to make good foundation for further understanding study of theLinxian dialect vocabulary.The thesis consists of seven parts.Part 1 is the introduction as a foreshading, talking atout thegeographical outline and the history of Linxian, the belonging ofLinxian dialect, the research background, and the sounds featuresof Linxian dialect words, and so or, to make a premise for theexpansion of the paper.Part 2 compares the meaning of Linxian dialect words withStandard Chinese, from the meaning of words,the width ofmeaning,the number of items,the aggregating of semanteme to thesence of color ,analyzing the difference between Linxian dialectwords and Standard Chinese.Part 3 compares building method of Linxian dialect words withStandard Chinese, from the morpheme of building words toaffix,analyzing the word–building feature.Part 4 discusses the etymology of Linxian dialectwords,including three ways of inheriting,creating and borrowing,further knowing from vertical direction the feature of Linxian dialectwords.Part 5 analyzes the character of named reason of Linxiandialect words,that is,the reason and basis of those dialect wordsnames,from directly naming to indirectly naming,making usunderstanding origion and backgroung of those dialect words . Part 6 introduces folkways cultures of Linxian dialect words fromJujube,burying to marriage,revealing regional cultures, customs andtraditions.Part 7 is conclusion which sums up the whole thesis and makesan overall statement about the characteristics of vocabulary ofLinxian dialect, with weakness and faults in this thesis.I complish this thesis under circumstances of be familiar withmother language,the mount of investage referring to many materials,hoping to do my best for studying of Linxian dialect as a linguisticslearner and researcher.
