The Narrative Interpretations Of Kaifeng Zhuxian Town Woodcut New Year Paintings And Its Present Situation

The central plains of china not only has a long history and the splendid civilization, but also has a number of unique folk art form. The Woodcut New Year paintings of Kaifeng Zhuxian Town is located in the Central Plains, which own a folk and local flavor and occupy an important position in the history of the development of New Year paintings. This thesis attempts to preliminarily explore the narrative context of cultural characteristics of Kaifeng Zhuxian Town Woodcut New Year paintings by using of cultural studies, folklore and anthropology theories. It also combined with the figures to have a field investigation. In sum, paying attention and making protection to the traditional folk culture and arts has become a very urgent and important task. The author carries on the elaboration from four parts in this thesis.In the first part, it discusses the New Year paintings and Woodcut New Year paintings, as well as the historical changes of Zhuxian Town Woodcut New Year paintings.In the second part, the author briefly introduces the situation of Kaifeng ZhuxianTown, mainly discusses the technology forms and art characteristics of Zhuxian Town Woodcut New Year paintings.In the third part, the author made narrative interpretations of modern Zhuxian Town Woodcut New Year paintings, preliminarily explored folk beliefs in the narrative context, as well as the profound influence by drama narratives of Zhuxian Town Woodcut New Year paintings and interpreted the cultural connotation of its narrative image symbols.In the fourth part, through the investigation of Kaifeng Zhuxian Town, the author found that the current situation of Zhuxian Town Woodcut New Year paintings are not so well. The author tried to find out a better solution to let the national cultural heritage be better protected and inherited, which has the practical significance in nowadays.
