Lie is a cross-research field of philosophy, ethics, psychology, sociology and linguistics. Foreign scholars do research on lies from the prototype analysis lies, lies of idealized cognitive model, cooperative principle and politeness principle and so on. However, domestic scholars focus on the definition and classification of the lies, the relationship of lies and truth (i.e. the true value of lies), the objects lie relates to (i.e. the liar and lie receiver) and so on lie on.Lie prototype of Coleman and Kay began from the perspective of linguistics. This paper defines the implicit meaning lies based on this lie prototype analysis with "intend to deceive","believe not true" and "This is not true", of which these three varieties of lie occupy the core status and are typical lies. According to this standard, this paper argues that the hidden meaning lie refers to the liar’s false words in order to conceal their true intentions (regardless of good or bad the intention), and deceive or cheat each other. A liar not only intends to cheat but also subjectively identifies the verbal expression not true. In practice his verbal expression and the objective situation does not match. This kind of lie is a hidden meaning one. This essay argues whether it’s true or false is semantic problems, while whether lying more involves the pragmatic problems. Therefore, this article, taking lies of Feng Jie in "A Dream of Red Mansions" as an example, analyzes hidden meaning lies according to pragmatic theory.First of all, this paper, based on Verschueren’s communicative context analysis in pragmatics theory, explains not only the adaptation to liars’different pitches of voice, the adaptation to different roles of lie receivers, and the adaptation to the mind of liars and lie receivers, but also the adaptation to the social world and the physical world. In addition, this paper also analyses hidden meaning lies on the basis of the cooperative principle and politeness principle of conversation theory in pragmatics. The analysis means the hidden meaning lie speakers quietly go against the principles of cooperation, intending to let the hearer know that he has violated the principles of cooperation. The surface of communicative attitude conveys the literal meaning of the seemingly "cooperation", but the real communicative intention is blinded to each other. And the underlying cooperative attitude on this premise does not exist. The purpose of the hidden meaning lies is to make them trustworthy, hence when generated it not only conforms to the communicative context, but also follow the guidelines of the politeness principle.
