ObjectivesThis paper was based on the results to discuss the current situation and characteristics ofEmergency Nurses’ Emotional labor in the3A-level Hospital in the city of Taiyuan andunderstand the current problem, to explore the aspect needded to improve, then provide a cleardirection for the next emotional labor training and management. On these bases, the paperdiscussed a suitable management and training method for emergency nurses’ emotional labor,to improve the current situation and provide a referential method for the hosptial emotionallabor training in depth.MethodsIn the survey research, using the whole group of convenience sampling method, for200emergency nurses of the seven3A-level Hospital in the city of Taiyuan conducted thequestionaire survey, and there are181valid questionnaires. The questionaires include generalinformation questionnaire and emotional labor questionnaire. Using Spss13.0statistical softwareto analysis the date.these methods include descriptive statistics and statistical inference. In the intervention study,31emergency nurses came from the same one3A-level Hospitalwere selected as research objects, took part in the emotional labor training and tests wereconducted before and after the training, the effect was evaluated by using quantity analysis andqualitative analysis.Result1. Questionnaire evaluationReliability: The questionnaire’s reliability was tested by Cronbach’s a. After testing, theoverall Cronbach’s a coeffieient of questiounaire was0.796, the Cronbach’s a coeffieient of thedimensions rang was between0.712and0.741, which were at0.7above.The questionaire had ahigher reliability.Validity: The confirmatory factor analysis was used to verify the structure of thequestionnaire. The model χ~2=113.62, df=74, χ~2/df=1.535, and the value of χ~2/df less thanthree shows a better model fit. Estimated mean square error approximation RMSEA=0.045. thevalue of RMSEA that is less than0.05shows a good model fit.Factor analysis results werebasically consistent with the questionnaire strueture. The questiormaire had a better constructionvalidity. 2. Survey ResultThe scores of emergency nurses’emotional labor among3dimentions were ranked at adescending order as follow:surface acting, emotional display requirements and deep acting. The variations in emotional labor among emergency nurses were a significant difference(P<0.05) by personal charaeteristics, namely, gender, age, marital status, appointment, years ofemergency work experiene, fall evening shift situation, character, salary, the cause of nursing.thefemale nurses were more good at using surface acting than male nurses, and the perception levelof the requirements of emotional expression was alao more higher than male nurse; nursesbetween the age of26and35tended to use surface acting, nurses under the age of25useed thelest surface and deep acting; married nurses were better at using surface acting and deep actingthan unmarried nurses; the contract nurses’ perception level of the requirements of emotionalexpression were higher than prepared nurses; so did nurses working in the emergency sectionmore than16years; the more the number of night shift nurses experienced, the less the surfaceacting and deep acting nurses used in the work; surface acting ablity of introverted nurses werelower than the outgoing group and mixed group; with the increasing of wages, the emergencynurses more inclined to use deep acting;the nurses who like nursing greatly prefered to use deepacting rather than surface acting, but the perception level of the requirements of emotionalexpression were less higher than others who choosed nusing for other causes.3. Experimental ResultAfter the training, there is a significant difference of the scores of the surface acting anddeep acting(P<0.05). There is little significant difference of the scores of the emotional displayrequirements and the overall emotional labor.Conclusion1. The average of emotional labor’3dimensions were more than3.0, surface acting showedthe highest degree. Nurses whose age were under35and years of emergency work experiencewere more than1were the intervention focus of emotional labor.2. After the training, the surface acting with more negative impact reduced and deep actingwith more positive impact increased. Konwledge and skills training on emotional labor can helpemergency nurses develop the awareness of emtional labor, strenthen the emotional labor skills, improve the nurse-patient relationship and prevent the negative impact of emotional labor onemergency nurses.3. From the vision of nursing management, the training of emotional labor has a potentialvalue:①which can clarify the affairsthat could cause emergency nurses to conduct emotionallabor, providing a reference for futher targeted intervention and injecting new content to theflexible management.②which can clarify the emotional skills used by emergency nurses in the work, providing a help for improving the best practices of emotional labor training and injectingnew content to the cultural construction of the emergency section.
