Emotional Labor In Teachers

Emotional labor is the endeavor to create social observable facial or bodily display,it is an import part of the teachers' work.The teachers have to encourage and motivate their students,and they also have to ensure the conduct of classes in orders.Many studies have revealed that the emotional labor has a tight association with the job satisfaction and job burnout.However,there still remains unknown what is the role of emotional requirements in emotional labor.In this study,we supposed that emotional lab is the mediator in the relationship between personality treat/ emotional intelligence and job satisfaction or job burnout,and emotional requirement serves as the moderator in the model.To test our hypothesis,structural equation model and latent profile analysis were performed.We found that: 1)deep acting serves as a mediator in the relationship between the treat of extraversion and job satisfaction,and emotional requirement play a role of moderator in this model;2)surface acting serves as a mediator in the relationship between the ability to evaluate others' emotion and emotional exhaustion,and emotional requirement play a role of moderator in this model;3)deep acting serves as a mediator in the relationship between the ability to evaluate others' emotion and emotional exhaustion,and emotional requirement play a role of moderator in this model;4)five emotional labor profiles were identified and found that these actor profiles were distinguished by employee outcomes(job burnout and job satisfaction).These results may enhance our understanding of the emotional labor of teachers.
