The Study On The Engraved Stone Tombs In Northern Shaanxi And Northwestern Shanxi Region

This paper first of all dose the research of the tomb forms and funeral potteries on the published data about57tombs of the middle and late eastern Han dynasty which excavated in northern Shaanxi and northwestern Shanxi region, and secondly analyze the development process of cultures basing on the result of periodization. Thirdly place the engraved stone tombs in larger space and analyze the similarities and differences with the Han dynasty tombs in local and surrounding areas. And then analyze the similarities and differences with the engraved stone tombs in northern Jiangsu and Nan yang areas. Finally analyze the culture elements and understand the structure of culture.The whole article consists of eight parts.Chapter Ⅰ:Preface.First is the explaining of the range of the time and space. Then review the history of the discovering and studies, and propose the research thoughts and aims.Chapter Ⅱ:Classification of tomb’s configuration.According to the construction material, all the tombs can be compartmentalized into two sorts. Then according to the quantity and form of tomb, the two sorts can be compartmentalized in more detail.Chapter Ⅲ:Analysis of funeral objects.First introduce the basic situation about the funeral objects. Then analyze the types of main potteries.Chapter Ⅳ:Study of periodization on tombs.According to the characteristics of configuration and funeral objects, all the tombs can be compartmentalized into two periods basing on the historical records and the dates of the tombs with specific time characters.Chapter Ⅴ:Comparison with the Han dynasty tombs in local and surrounding areas.Place the engraved stone tombs in larger space and analyze the similarities and differences with the Han dynasty tombs in local and surrounding areas. Chapter Ⅵ:Comparison with the engraved stone tombs in surrounding areas.Analyze the similarities and differences with the engraved stone tombs in northern Jiangsu and Nan yang areas.
