Brain science, one of the most advanced subjects in the field of cognitivethroughout this century, which was listed in the National Developing and PlanningStrategies Research in some developed countries. Such as The Decade of the Brain inthe US and The Scientific Era of Brain in Japan, etc.. The author tries to testifydifferent learning methods affect vitally different on the structures and functions in thebrain. Getting to know those neuromechanism on acquisition and cognitive disordersprovides us more efficient expectation for teaching and learning. This thesis is an experimental research on English vocabulary acquisition basedon the theories of cognitive neuroscience and cognitive psychology. The hypothesis isthat the multiple memory systems--the semantic memories, the procedural memories, the episodic memories and the emotional memories can help students with thevocabulary acquisition. Meanwhile, some memory strategies were mentioned. Withthe pre-test questionnaire, the experimental procedure was carried out in the form ofdrawing mind-mapping by the students themselves, and in the latter part, thereflection journals were collected for more feedback. Mastering more knowledge oncognitive neuroscience, such as the levels of processing, methods of connectionsamong neurons for getting more information stored in the hippocampus, and thefactors impact on memory, and so on, the teachers can improve their teaching skills.
