Chinese national opera not only learns the basic expressive factor from western opera, but absorbs andblends with the excellent exhibition theory of traditional opera in its development, developing a newoperatic school of its own. This essay studies on the comparison of exhibition between Chinese nationalopera and traditional opera, to make clear the inter-connection among drama, traditional opera, musicdrama and national opera. Besides, by combining the exhibition features of traditional opera and nationalopera, this essay explores the difference from the aspect of exhibition and internal relations betweenChinese national opera and traditional opera, thus expecting to provide some reference for the theorydevelopment of Chinese national opera exhibition.This essay consists of three parts: Introduction, body and conclusion.In the part of introduction, it briefly introduces the development of Chinese national opera, andreviews the present study on national opera made by the academic field.The body contains four chapters.Chapter1: Conception and category of Chinese national opera. This part defines the conception andcategory of dramatic art, music drama, traditional opera and national opera respectively.Chapter2: Basic exhibition features of traditional opera and Chinese national opera. This part makes adeep study from “Four Gong and Five methods” in traditional opera exhibition to “voice, stage, form andimage” in Chinese national opera exhibition.Chapter3: Comparison between Chinese national opera and traditional drama art exhibitions. Bymaking comparison of music singing difference, this part aims to observe the difference of subject emotionand aesthetic judgment, and to make a whole explanation of the “amplification” and “exaggeration”features expressed in both exhibition forms.Chapter4: Inheritance and lessons learned by Chinese national opera from traditional opera exhibition.By analyzing the stage shift of present national opera from traditional opera exhibition theory andunearthing the inheritance and lessons learned by national opera players from traditional opera exhibition,this part aims to put forward to a new model in training national opera players. In the part of conclusion, this essay makes a reasonable summary of Chinese national opera and its artexpressive forms.
