Itwidely collected rich Unauthorized Characters information from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the late Tangand Five Dynasties, the pronunciations and meanings of most sutras in a special historical phase. Thecontent of those Unauthorized Characters in Yiqiejing Yinyi is very rich, types are complete, which is theextremely abundant materials for the study of Unauthorized Characters. Like Authorized Characters,Unauthorized Characters develops with Characters, which also has its own characteristics and certainsystem. In order to deepen our understanding of the Unauthorized Characters, this paper study from theperspective of Chinese Characters—Associative on Unauthorized Characters so that it can provide somevaluable materials for the further research into the Unauthorized Characters and Associative-characters inChinese from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the late Tang and Five Dynasties.This paper includes five parts: Introduction, Hui Lin and Yiqiejing Yinyi, The description ofAssociative-unauthorized-characters in Hui Lin Yinyi, analysis of the reasons, and epilogue.For the convenience of research, I first define the concept of Associative-characters in theintroduction of “Brief introduction to Associative-characters”, and I regard what Qiu Xigui said in ThePhilology Summary of the interpretation of Associative-characters as the benchmark: we call the CharactersAssociative components that combine two or more than two parts of the different Characters to form a nowCharacter to represent a new meaning, which is different from the formers. The Preface part also refers tothe contents of this research, purpose, methods, meanings, and several problems to be paid attention to.The research results of Hui Lin Yinyi are very plentiful, involving the dictionaries compilation,vocabulary, phonology, character, and other aspects. The study achievements of the character are rich.There are also some other achievements in the Unauthorized character study, but there are not further studyfrom the view of Liushu.The Unauthorized characters collected in this book are plentiful, and are also goodmaterials for further study on the Unauthorized character. First, chapter1comprehensively introduces HuiLin, Hui Lin Yinyi, and the current research situations about the book, so as to learn about the related information of the book.The core part mainly describes the types of the Associative-unauthorized-character in Hui LinYinyi, and further analyzes and summarizes the characteristics of these words, and the reasons for theircoming into being.The types of the Associative-unauthorized-character in Hui Lin Yinyi are very rich, we dividethem into seven types according to the relationship between the Associative-unauthorized-character and theAuthorized-character: variation of writing Associative-unauthorized-characters are changed in shapes,components connected or varied, components replaced, being completely created, different componentposition, components omitted or error, components added, etc. These Associative-unauthorized-charactershave distinct characteristics, they first have the characteristics of the Associative-characters mixed character,but also have the characteristics of the Unauthorized-characters. In addition, they are also unique thecharacteristics of the Associative-unauthorized-characters from the Eastern Han dynasty to the Tang andFive dynasties. After the analysis, I summarized six characteristics in the book: given priority with variedstructures, more economic components, the structure not being steady enough, verbs in the majority. Inaddition, the meaning modes are very full, the Associative-unauthorized-characters in the Pianzheng modehas the largest number. Whether to give priority to the characteristics of righteous understanding or fromthe characteristics of comparative economic component and more verbs, we can clearly see the change andascension of the people thinking patterns, and gradual maturity and simplification trend of Chinesecharacters.To be more clear, a good understanding of the historical stages of theAssociative-unauthorized-characters, this article attempts analysis the the causes ofAssociative-unauthorized-characters in Hin Lin Yinyi.The sources of the Associative-unauthorized-characters in Hin Lin Yinyi are more complex, thereason of generation is very much also. After the analysis discovered that part of theAssociative-unauthorized-characters is a result which the ancient writing popularizes, a part of it is due tomore leather writing variations caused by font, others because erroneous ellipsis. In addition,some newcharacters are produced under the influence of writing optional of the Unauthorized-characters, people’s lifeand cognition.
