Based on previous studies, this dissertation try to discuss and explore the inheritance relationship between the art of buffoonery of Yuan opera and Ming opera’s, and the dissertation also makes a comparative research on these two types of arts, further clarify the different characteristics of buffoonery at different times. At the same time, we hope that it will be helpful for taking on further research on evolution and development of the buffoonery arts.This dissertation is divided into three chapters together. Chapter one is overview which is divided into three sections. The section one introduces the development of buffoonery in Chinese classic opera, which include the origination, development and improvement. The section two introduces the art of Yuan opera’s buffoonery, which concerning application and artistic achievements of buffoonery in Yuan opera. The section three introduces the buffoonery in Ming opera, which concerning the origination and development of buffoonery in Ming opera.Chapter two is divided into three sections, which present the inheritance relationship between the art of buffoonery of Yuan opera and Ming opera’s. The section one presents the similarities between the subjects of buffoonery of Yuan opera and Ming opera’s. The section two introduces the same expressions of buffoonery in these two types of arts. And the same functions of the buffoonery in the Yuan opera and Ming opera are discussed in the section three.Chapter three is divided into three sections, which present the difference of the buffoonery between Yuan opera and Ming opera and their reasons. The section one concentrates on the difference of the carrier of buffoonery, which include the difference of expression vector and role vector. And in this section, we also try to analyze the reason why exist these difference in these vectors. The section two discuss the difference of style, which is centered by the performance of difference and the existence reason. The section three discusses the difference of buffoonery which reflects the subjectivity of writers. In this section, we think that the buffoonery reflects the subjectivity of writers, and we also make attempt to analyze the reason for such differences to exist.
