On The Reflect And Significance Of Objectivism Philosophical Thoughts In Ayn Rand’s Novels

The Russian-born American writer Ayn Rand’s novel and thoughts couldnot be ignored in America in the20th century. As her works have beenintroduced to China, the research and regard for her has gradually increasedhere as well. At present, research on Ayn Rand at home and abroad can beroughly divided into several areas: First，research on ethics and philosophicalthoughts. This research mainly discusses and analyzes Rand’s “rational egoism”and “selfish” theories. Second are studies of her novels. This research mainlyfocuses on the analysis of character molding, plot structure and so on. But thereis not a great deal of research of Rand’s thinking in her novels. Therefore, it isan very important study angel that analyzing her novel writing style and artisticskills. To study Rand’s objectivist philosophical thoughts we should examinethem in combination with their representation in her novel. Only in this way wecan generally analyze her works and ideas.This paper applies methods of text analysis, induction and synthesis todiscuss the formation of ideas and their practical process. It is divided into threeparts. First, we analyze the process of her thinking and significant influencesfrom her life’s experience and social environment.The second part is analysis of the text of the novel, from which we canlearn how Rand’s ideas are reflected in these three aspects: theme of novel,characters molding and plot structure. Also we examine her artistic skills andexpression in depth of novel internal.The third part analyzes the practical significance of Rand’s objectivistphilosophical thinking, especially the important enlightenment for ourintellectuals and charitable development in China.The analysis of this paper strictly follows the logical order of “what andhow”, combining the text of novel closely with the Chinese nationalcondition,and has a very important significance for us to be able to analyze andunderstand how it relates to the current reality.
