Fu, as one of the literary genres with the most Chinese national characteristics,has passed a history of nearly2000years from pre-Qin to Qing dynasty. However,compared with the study of poetry, the results of Fu research are not fruitful. For a longtime, people have been more likely to analyze and research Fu from the aspect of styleand form instead of subject matter. This article will start with the subject matter whichis set in Tang Dynasty and make a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth study forObject-chanting Fu in Tang Dynasty.This article mainly consists of three parts to discuss Fu in Tang Dynasty, that is,the creation of Object-chanting Fu in early, middle and late Tang Dynasty. These threeparts, arranged by time, make a research for Object-chanting Fu in Tang Dynasty byimitating the models of Tang Poetry research in stages and combining the characters ofFu’s own creation,so different characteristics of Object-chanting Fu in different stagesare presented.The first part is about the object-chanting Fu in early Tang Dynasty. It is in thisperiod that object-chanting Fu broke creation traditions of Southern Dynasties andgradually took Tang’s charm to the boom. In over100years, Fu’s connotation and formwere gradually integrated and there have been a large numbers of excellent works with adistinct personality and a strong spirit of the era. The second part is object-chanting Fuof Mid-Tang Dynasty. In this period, the creation of object-chanting Fu had atremendous development and progress in genre, content and thought, entering anunprecedented climax. This period is featured by the great progress made by variousgenres. The third part is about object-chanting Fu in late Tang Dynasty. During thisperiod, following the overall glory of Middle Tang, object-chanting Fu continued todevelop and started to escape from its fetters, presenting a new look. For one thing,under the influence of realistic style, object-chanting Fu had a closer contact with realityand paid more attention to social ideas and expression of argument. For another, therecurrence of florid style made object-chanting Fu in late Tang Dynasty have a tendencyof returning to florid style.
