"有+VP" Structure in Quanzhou dialect is a special structure in the Southern Fujiandialect syntax, which has a very high frequency in people’s spoken language."有+VP"structure becomes also more and more popular in mass media outside of Quanzhou area, suchas, newspapers, magazines, films and television and so on. And gradually this structurebecomes the TV entertainment show host’s spoken language and is very popular among theyoung groups; moreover, it is gradually penetrating into the Mandarin.Based on the data collection, the historical evolution, syntactic function, pragmaticfeatures and its development trend of "有+VP" Structure in Quanzhou dialect are discussed.Chronically, the development of this structure is looked into to analyze its origin. It is foundthat this structure is the retention of ancient Chinese in Quanzhou dialect; then this structure isanalyzed from the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic perspective to explain the part of speechof "有". And the result is that "有" plays the role of emphasis marker of perfective aspect. Thecomparative analysis is made between "有+VP" structure and "have+V-ed" structure inEnglish, and between "V+了" in mandarin and similar structures in Quanzhou dialect toexplain their differences and relations. From the theories of semantics, pragmatics, andlinguistic typology, this special structure is analyzed thoroughly. And the internal and externalcauses of its re-popularity in mandarin are analyzed. Some issues of this structure remainunsolved and the answers to these issues are important in explaining the conversionphenomena between dialect and mandarin grammar. Therefore, the further research of thisstructure is necessary.
