A Study On The Structure Of "一量（的）名"

The structure “one+measure words+nouns（”referred to the structure “一量名” forshort）is acommon format“数量名”,the utilization of “的”is of the highest frequencyamong the words in modem Chinese, but some of the structures can combine with“的” when used, but still others of the structures can not combine with “的” whenused. Through the study of the464Special measure words marked clearly in “Modern Chinese Dictionary”(The fifth edition) and the typical Borrowed measure words usedtemporarily with greater frequency of utilization in daily life, we find that the relation between the structure “一量名” and “的” can be analyzed from the following threeperspectives:The structure “One+Special measure words+nouns” and “的”.The structure“One+Borrowed measure words+nouns” and “的”.The other structure forms of “一量名” and “的”.Study shows that when the measure words in the structure “一量名” is Individualmeasures words,Collective measure words,Uncertain measure words or measure wordsborrowed from verbs，“的” can not be added in the structure often，but it can also be added with “的” sometimes in order to play an ascensive role. When the measurewords in the structure is borrowed from the nouns or the measure words overlap, thestructure is available no matter added with “的” or without “的”;When the measurewords in the structure is metric measure words,the structure is available no matter added with “的” or not in most cases, but it must be added with “的” in a few cases.The structure “one+measure words+nouns” can not be added with “的” usually,but in some cases it can be added with “的”. The phenomenon not only depends onthe features of its own grammar and semantics, but also relates to the extent of thegrammaticalization of measure words in the structure. The higher the extent of the measure words grammaticalization is, the more easily the structure is used with “的”together. The result is opposite if the condition is reversed. Besides, it also relates tothe closeness between measure words and “one” or “的” on the semantics.“的” canbe added between the measure words and the nouns in the structure when measurewords and “One” connect with each other closer in order to show the number of thenouns. And “的” can not be added between the measure words and the nouns in thestructure when they connect with each other closer so as to show the number of the nouns. Mainly to limit and describe the nouns instead of measurement. Studies showthat most of the structures “一量名” can express subjective large quantities,but thereare also a few structures that can express subjective small quantities,it mainly relatesto the level of the measure words and language environment，etc.
