The Caizi-Jiaren novels had produced in the late Ming dynasty. And their style hadchanged in early Qing dynasty. In addition to criticize this illogical of the plot and story, thepeople had paid attention to their elegant and peaceful characteristics. Both the elegant styleand the placid style is the significant aesthetic style of the Caizi-Jiaren novels in early Qingdynasty. The elegant and correct style is an ideological content of these novels. It mainlyfocuses on the purity facet of the association between men and women. And it claims that thedecorous works is not related to sex. Specifically, the elegant and correct style is reflected inaspects of the sincere love and morality. The sincere love is the hero and heroine’s sincerepure love, and the morality is reflected in their love relationship and life. The placid style isthe structure of these novels. It mainly embodies in the story arrangement and narrativecharacteristics. The elegant and correct style is formed that mainly because of the activebackwash about the writers loved some vulgar taste in the later Ming dynasty, and affected bythe policy of prohibit and destroy obscene novels in in early Qing dynasty. And the placidstyle is mainly formed by the people pursued happiness and avoided suffering in psychology.To the middle of Qing dynasty, due to the diverse stories of the Caizi-Jiaren novels, theiraesthetic style had changed. In development, due to writers changed the understanding of theelegant and correct style, lead to the works appeared more sex plot and lost elegant style. Atthe same time, many novels joined with the theme of the war and genie, and adopt the karma.So, they also changed the pursuit of the placid style.
