This era is a special period in which novel has made its great progress. In the field ofliterary creation, Yan Mo become the focus of the public. Since1980s, the number of Mr.Mo’s works has increased greatly. In his view, the principle of literary creation is that thewriter should pay much attention to the society and try their best to reflect problems withplain words. From the transparent carrot in1985to the frog in2009, Mr. Mo has written11long novels, besides, he has also created uncountable short articles. As for his research onnovel, it involves many aspects, such as narrative theory, excavation of the folk, femaleimages, etc. In a word, he has a bumper harvest in literary creation.As a novelist, Mr. Mo also pay much attention to prose writing since1990s. till now, alarge number of novelists’ prose have been studied. However, few people focuses on Mr. Mo’sprose. The novelists who were interested in prose writing not only because the special styleand characteristics of prose, but also has relations with the social reality. Mr. Mo is anexcellent writer who are popular with the public. In his prose he was inclined in the freedomof life and was looking forward to heart regression.There are many differences between the art expression of prose and the creation of novel.Mr. Mo also express his wild and imagination in his prose. Besides, he poured his honesty andsincere into his works. As he was attached to his hometown, local complex and the memoriesof his childhood became the theme of his creation. Based on the tradition of prose creation, healso innovated in many aspects by the influence of Faulkner. As a result of this, his workspresented some special characteristics that are different from the others. This paper focuses onanalyzing the characteristics of Mr. Mo’s prose.
