Cultural Path Research Of The Mainstream Value Reconstruction

The lifestyle changing caused by the transformation of China has made the mainstream valuereconstruction a focus in recent years. Every stable society has its mainstream value consensus. Along withthe social evolution procession, the mainstream value system should be changed and guide people’sdaily-life practice prospectively. That is to say, during the whole process of civilization, the value systemsof human society should be constructed, deconstructed and then constructed so that the mainstream valuescan be enriched and perfected. The traditional mainstream value consensus, which are the spiritual pillar ofthe traditional agricultural society, express people’s recognition of traditional lifestyle in a rational way.The modernization of the Chinese society calls for the reconstruction of the mainstream value consensus.According to the historical materialism, the mainstream values, which are the specific inner-mind andbasic characteristic of the culture, are always in compliance with specific material goods productionmethods and expressed through certain culture symbols. However, China’s current dual transformation hasmade the reconstruction of the mainstream values be in the great conflicts. The value systems of Chinesetraditional culture, collectivism value been popularized in the Plan economy era and western values beenintroduced in the market-oriented economy period have all lost their meanings and fallen into piecesawkwardly under the impact of the discourse power in the new era. Value conflicts between the traditionaland the modern, the foreign and the native, and that lie in the social internal structures are becoming morefierce and complex at the age of pluralistic values. In the field of people’s daily life, the public are being inthe fierce conflicts between the traditional and the new values and in the great value disorders caused bythe culture industrial age. In the public life field, elites’ works cannot work well as before. On one side, the traditional cultural communication patterns have been replaced by the multiple interactive communicationpatterns. On the other side, the culture’s secular trend has made the effect of the elites’ works even weaker.The reconstruction of the mainstream values should be launched in a cultural way. Firstly, we shouldpay more attention on the traditional beliefs and values, striving for the creative transformation oftraditional culture. Secondly, the minimum common value consensus should be achieved on a pluralisticvalue platform, showing great culture tolerance and communicative rationality. Thirdly, the elites’ culturecreation should be showed in a new form so that they can be widely popularized. Meanwhile, they shouldtry to recognize and adapt to the multiple interactive communication patterns.
