In twenty eighty’s,"Avant-garde criticism" was active between1985and1989. Main members in the north are Li Tuo、Huang Zipjng、Ji Hongzheng、Meng Yue, south are Wu Liang、Cheng Depei、Nan Fan、Xu Zidong、Yin Guoming、Wang Xiaoming、and Li QingXi, etc. They take "Literary form" as their starting point, coming up with concepts like "Literary ontology"," Literary Linguistics","People ontology" in succession, and taking these concepts as their theory core to refute single Literature-political criticism and Sociology criticism mode before, trying to using this kind of Literary criticism practice which owns exploring meaning to build independent subject form.From buds to establishment,"Avant-garde criticism" contains two levels of development:one is the setting up of literature "Avant-garde" concept, namely what is the literature’s "Avant-garde"? Why "Avant-garde" is needed? The second is "construction and interpretation formal Criticism". Both intertwined, and promote each other, inspire the creation of "Avant-garde criticism" in twenty eighty’s. In this process,"Cultural revolution", as a negative and potential resource, deeply involved in the Avant-garde criticism of discourse construction, which is sensitive and consciously to "Subject consciousness", can be regarded as history reaction and the instinct adjustment to "Cultural revolution" depression in a certain degree. In addition, in the state ideology, allowing "comments free", building and encouraging so-called "New Age" literature; era’s eagerness to resonance for "New", and supporting and "guiding" journals, taking<Shanghai literature>as representative, etc, are also the important context of the establishment of "Avant-garde criticism"All of Avant-garde Criticism philosophy and derivatives, are grounded on the simple content/form binary opposition thinking. On the one hand, they give "Literary form" the most attention and emphasis, sometimes even at the cost of misinterpreting text, on the other hand, as theirs’knowledge and historical ones, they pay attention to old expression like "theme","social background" from time to time. This makes division and disintegration factor existing in the "Pioneer criticism" from the beginning. Additionally, critics utilitarian appeal for self identity(including power and legal status), making "Criticism criticism" which advocate "pure literature" and "de-politicization" lose the "Avant-garde" characteristics ultimately, falling into the trap of "ideology".
