The Investigation And Analysis Of The Current Situation And Problems On Tcsol Of Elementary And Middle Schools

Teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages (TCSOL for short) is not only an educational but also an international affair full of vitality in both overseas and domestic. As a result of the promotion and enhancement of China’s political status and economic strength, TCSOL itself shares a great advancement. Then we can see more people are engaged in TCSOL and researching on it.In recent years, due to Chinese elementary and middle schools sparing no effort making international exchange on education, at the same time more and more countries being badly in need of talents who can speak Chinese in their countries, schools in China are undertaking the task of teaching Chinese to students of other languages in China. It’s certain that schools in China get more internationalization. Shijiazhuang’s TCSOL began in2003; it is trying its best to overcome the adverse geographical factors and always making improvements. As a result, the current situation of schools in Shijiazhuang on TCSOL caused the author’s attention. The author wants to make an investigation of the situation and makes the facts known to more scholars.Firstly, the author worked out the key points of the investigation by reading the relevant literature. Then the author visited the relevant schools and interviewed the relevant characters according to the key points. The paper is based on the interview. The author made the investigation according to three major aspects such as students, teachers and management. There also exist some problems, such as:the fact that the students of other languages’Chinese are in different levels when they intended their Chinese schools brings difficulties for our Chinese teachers. Second, professional TCSOL teachers are in shortage. Third, the amount of the students is not stable. Fourth, teachers need a direct channel to solve their difficult points in teaching Chinese. To the problems mentioned in paper, the author respectively gave suggestions.Schools in the cities that in similar objective conditions with Shijiazhuang which want to enroll foreign students to learn Chinese can learn something from this city. On the other side, schools in Shijiazhuang still have some problems that are difficult to solve by themselves, the author holds the views that it is necessary to reflect the reality of their development and problems in TCSOLThe author is looking forward more feasible suggestions to improve Shijiazhuang’s situation on TCSOL. The experienced researchers and the cities after reading this paper can help more TCSOL teachers in Shijiazhuang and other cities solve their teaching difficulties.
