Adverb of degree is a very important part in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, within which foreign students could easily make mistakes while they are learning Chinese."you dianr(有点儿)”and " shao wei(稍微)”,adverbs of absolute and relative degree respectively, which are taught in Grade One for foreign students, are one of the adverbs that they are most likely to misunderstand. The characteristics of "you dianr(有点儿)”and " shao wei(稍微)”as well as the phenomenon that foreign students made mistakes in Chinese learning were systemically studied in this dissertation, details as follow.First of all, based on a large quantities of corpus materials and previous researches, the National Language Committee of modern Chinese corpus and Peking University Center for Chinese Linguistics corpus (CCL) were made full use of to study the syntax and rules of use requirements of the words "you dianr(有点儿)”and " shao wei(稍微)”in the this thesis. Usage and rules in grammar were analyzed in detail, which could make fully preparations for "what to teach", namely teaching content, in Chinese teaching as a foreign language.Next, on the basis of the mistakes corpora in "HSK dynamic composition corpus" of Beijing Language and Culture University and "Chinese Interlingua Corpus" of Jinan University, five aspects of the mistake corpus, which were sieved from the databases about the mistakes made by foreign students, were analyzed, Ⅰ whether the sentences were lack of ingredients; Ⅱ whether ingredients were added in to sentences incorrectly; Ⅲ whether right words were replaced; Ⅳ whether confusion of word order existed in sentences; Ⅴ sentence structure is mixed. These phenomenon could be used to find out the causes of errors made by foreign students.Finally, combining the second language teaching theory and teaching method, the dissertation argued that methods to teach Chinese as a foreign language such as Situational method and communicative method should be used to teach adverbs of degree. In the end, the relative degree adverb "shao wei(稍微)”was explained as a specific case.
