Musical Memory training is essential for professionals engaged in music performance and composition. As a basic course offered in a conservatory of music, Solfeggio mainly focuses on musical hearing training and attaches great importance to the ability of musical memory as well.Memory types and levels are varied and complicated. Musical Memory is the same with nomal memory in some basic theory, but it also has its own characteristics, so does its training process and methods. On the basis of previous researches and analyses, experiments and teaching experience, this thesis summarizes the Musical Memory training methods employed in Solfeggio Teaching. In this thesis, Musical Memory training methods employed in Solfeggio Teaching is divided into three types:long-term memory training, short-term memory training, and Inner Hearing training. As for the first two, I focus on the storage and encoding of the musical materials. However, Inner Hearing training goes further. It has a higher level, because we are supposed to combine the perceptual and the rational in order to organize, understand and express the music. Besides, these three types of Musical Memory training should be intertwined in each teaching period. They will together develop the learner’s ability of musical hearing and memory.Currently, lots of researches are concerned with Musical Memory at home and abroad, covering a wide range of subjects (some put emphasis on theory and some on practice). Musical Memory training methods employed in Solfeggio Teaching is treated as the topic in this thesis. Meanwhile, I hope that my theoretical summary will further promote the comprehensive development of hearing and memory training.
