Young children and cartoon have formed a very close relationship. The children will gainfun and widen their vision in the process of interaction with cartoon, on the other hand, cartoon, which contains abundant emotions, heroism, intentions and relatively simple conceptsof value, according to children’s age characteristics who distinguish between right andwrong, influences their views of the world. But in recent years, with various kinds of cartoonand multifarious cartoon contents,we have also found that the negative effects emerge, forinstance, causing the children to form the wrong moral cognition, increase the behavior ofviolence and so on. This paper wants to discover cartoon’s influence on5-6years oldchildren’s moral development and how it works by studying. In the paper,we did a comparative experiment by playing the same three types ofcartoons between two group children, one group with guidance, the other group withoutguidance. The results show us that the former’s behavior on moral cognition is embodied aspreliminaries to see through the truth and make reasonable judgment through the results, themoral emotion development trend from individuals to the collective appears, that thesechildren can make some simple subjective judgment based on the moral behavior. And thelatter in moral cognition can make basic moral judgment according to the results;moralemotional aspects are as follows:centering on their own understanding of morality;moralbehavior taking the authority or rules as behavior judgment standard. The results show as follows:1.There is little effect on children’s moral development onlyby watching the cartoon.2.Cartoon for children’s moral development is influenced by teachersand parents’ attention to their behavior and words while watching cartoon. In the experiment, two experimental results clearly illustrate that children’s moral development level, watchingcartoon under the guidance of the teachers and parents, is significantly higher than that of"no guidance group",especially in the moral cognitive aspects of a more significant influence. Therefore, we draw the conclusion that5-6years old children’s moral development maybe affected by cartoon, but the effect is small, its influence doesn’t completely depend on thecartoon itself. To make animated cartoon play a role in children’s moral education function, weneed rely on teachers and parents’ behavior guidance and verbal attention;it is not feasible tomake moral education functions only relying on the animated cartoon itself.Based on the experimental results, the paper gives some effective suggestions on moraleducation to the the teachers and parents in the daily life. For example, how to choose theanimated cartoon, how to explore the function of animation, how long children spend on it. Inthis paper, with children as the main subject, we ponder over the value of animation forchildren from children’s points of view, not only from the function of education, entertainment and edutainment. We’re fully aware that animation is the children’s animatedcartoon and it is only a means of getting information and understanding the world bythemselves. So implementing moral education by watching cartoon and accomplishing theaim of "moisturizing things in silence" is the value of this paper.
