Study On Film And TV Series Music Written By Dingwei

Dingwei is an active composer in the creative fields of modern film and TV series music in China. Her works are diverse in style and famous for generous rhythm, profuse harmony and concise orchestration, which is of high aesthetic value and research significance. As a representative of the Academic School of the young generation of composers, Dingwei is open-minded on her creation, and her works are inclusive and diverse in style. Dingwei creates many well-known works with her mastering composing skills. Therefore her works are full of artistry, technicality and popularity, which endowed them with a high artistic and research value.The author makes a systematic research on Dingwei’s film and TV series music creation by using the first-hand materials. This article aims at getting further analysis and researches on her works with a full range of view based on the study of her films and TV series music creation. At the same time, the author summarized and classified her creation characteristics and artistic style, and aesthetic thought contained in Dingwei’s film and TV series music creation objectively.This dissertation consists of four chapters. Chapter one mainly summarizes the development of film and TV series music in China and introduces Dingwei briefly. Chapter two introduces the analysis about Dingwei’s film and TV series music, in subject chosen, melody, harmony and orchestration style and lyrics separately, then analyzes the original sound track in Love Is Not Blind and Leaves fall Changan. Chapter three analyzes the artistic style of Dingwei’s film and TV series music creation, from two aspects, namely music language suits both refined and popular taste and the discerning musical montage. Chapter four summarizes the esthetics thought in Dingwei’s music creation on films and TV series.In view of the handful research that have been done regarding film and TV series music creation written by modern music composer, the author hopes to contribution in this field by exploring research and comb summary of Dingwei’s creation. At the same time, the author aims to show the creation characteristics of the modern Chinese youth composer, and to put forward some enlightenment on film and TV series music with rapid development.
