The main task of the Bilingual Program launched by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) is to translate the foreign classics in literature, philosophy, linguistics, pedagogy, economics and sociology, etc. and make them into bilingual e-books and bilingual parallel corpus. Translating D. H. Lawrence’s Aaron’s Rod into Chinese is a part of the Bilingual Program. According to the grouping and assignment of tasks, after finishing12,269words’translation task, the author takes on the responsibility as the proofreader of Group1. This report is to record and summarize the proofreading process. This report begins with the detailed introduction of the background information of this task and the preparation made before proofreading. Considering the process of translation contains two stages--comprehension and representation, in the third chapter, the author divides the errors found in the translation into errors in comprehension and errors in representation based on the requirements of translation presented by the FLTRP. Those errors will be analyzed with examples. In the last chapter, the author proposes some implications from this translation project. On the bugs of the translation platform, the author points out that both the way that the source text is divided and the stability of the "FLTRP Platform" system should be improved; through the analysis of the errors in the translation, the author believes that the translators should pay more attention to the pre-preparation and the improvement of their expression in Chinese; from the gains and losses in the proofreading task, the author concludes that communication and responsibility is the key of proofreading; meanwhile, proper proofreading methods and detailed notes and conclusion are effective ways to improve the proofreading level. In the process of proofreading, because of the limit of time and the lack of revising experience, the author mainly focuses on the correction of errors on the linguistic level and the cooperation with the translators was lack of tacit understanding. That should be improved in the future proofreading tasks.
