Li Gong, in early Qing dynasty, is the Yan-Li school synthesizer. He develops the characteristics of Yan Yuan including the practical learning and applying. He advocates classic, return to Confucianism and possesses a huge influence in academic circles. In the research of Zhouyi, Li Gong combines theories of Yan-Li school and Zhouyi and has formed the unique style of explaining Zhouyi. The biggest characteristic of Li Gong’s Yi-Ology is basing on the rights of people, exploring statecraft of Zhouyi through expounding the meaning-pattern by image of change. In order to show the ideology of Li Gong, this paper is divided into five parts.The first part introduces the background of Li Gong’s Yi-ology and his life. The formation of Li Gong’s Yi-ology is closely connected to the background of time. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasty, the academic circle began to introspect the lessons of Ming’s falling and raise a movement of criticizing neo-Confucianism and paying attention to practical learning. In this background Li Gong’s Yi-ology was formed.The second part introduces the characteristics of Li Gong’s Yi-ology. His thought contains common characteristics of Yi-ology and the special spirit of Yan-Li school. This part involves three aspects. Firstly, Li Gong’s Yi-ology emphasizes the rights of people. Secondly, Li Gong pays attention to Zhouyi’s own characteristics and takes the method of explaining Zhouyi by image of change. Thirdly, he makes lots of research of the map of river and the Luo book。The third part introduces the content of Li Gong’s thought of practical learning and reposition the relationship between human and natural law. Li Gong considers that people should be content with their duty. So he proposes that reality, society, life are the most important part of Yi-Ology.The fourth part introduces concrete connotation of Li Gong’s Yi-ology. His Yi-ology focused on statecraft. It is not only the explanation of sixty-four hexagrams, but also the recreation of practical learning. He advocates benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, integrity, on the other hand he pays more attention to political practice.The fifth part is the overall evaluation of Li Gong’s thinking. Li Gong specifically the idea of the main personnel to meet the demand of statecraft, left a valuable spiritual resource.
