On The Enlightenment And Heritage Of Traditional Culture In Zhou Rui’s Creation

As each country has its unique cultural tradition, to absorb from traditional cultural elements can be regarded as a kind of literary technique and skill and it is also an important way for the breakthrough of the original children’s literature creation of our country. Zhou Rui has set an example in this aspect and the reference of Chinese traditional culture is very obvious in his work. This paper tries to explore the aesthetic character and artistic charm of his work through closed reading, cultural analysis and exploration of his creative approach. At the same time, as a viable way to explore the developing tendency of our local children’s literature, it also can be used to interpret the modern connotation of the traditional culture and its transformation in the new era.This article is divided into six parts, including the introduction, the main part (five chapters) and the conclusion. Based on the research background of Zhou Rui’s work, the introduction makes a connection between his creation and the literary trend of the three decades after the reform and opening up, sort out academic reviews of the change of his writing style from both the diachronic and synchronic dimensions, and then put forward the basic argument and proposition of this thesis.The main part has five chapters, which discusses how traditional Chinese culture is represented in Zhou Rui’s work from the aspects of literature, history, art, language. The first chapter analyzes the flexible use of the Chinese classical literary elements in Zhou Rui’s creation and its effection, respectively from the aspects of "archetypal characters, plot parody, environment settings, and chivalrous style.With the instance of the text as supporting materials, the second chapter, entitled "modern description of the folk culture elements," is intended to elaborate how Zhou Rui employed an approach called "new wine in old bottles" to interpret and compose the folk culture materials in modern way, such as interpreting myths and legends figures creatively, using historical events as the story background and adapting folk culture elements".Starting from the following aspects,"the fusion of literature and traditional folk art style, the reference and adaptation of traditional music and opera and the innovation of the traditional martial arts style", the third chapter entitled "absorption and innovation of the traditional art forms" discusses the fusion of literature and traditional art elements, and the resulting unique artistic style of Chinese cultural identity.Focusing on the use of personalized language characteristics and its effects, the fourth chapter entitled "the modern treatment of traditional language culture" cites the example of meta text and summarizes the personalized language style of Zhou Rui, through analyzing the contemporary verse of classical poetry, utilizing idioms, sayings, proverbs, and twisters, the magical use of the homophonic art and the processing of other language details.On the basis of the above analysis, the fifth chapter entitled "the contemporary art apocalypse of Zhou Rui’s creation phenomenon" focuses on five aspects of Zhou Rui’s creative characteristics, that is "employing native materials to be nationalized","emphasizing cultural heritage and following the mainstream of the time","breaking through the traditional chivalrous style to open up creative writing of martial arts","using personalized language and respecting children’s development","rich in cultural information, and interesting to read". In addition to these success of applying traditional cultural heritage by Zhou Rui’s work, this paper also points out some shortcomings of his work.In summary, learning to use elements of traditional culture is the most basic method of contemporary literary and artistic creation, and it is also a feasible way of cultural innovation, multiculturalism and sustainable development. Zhou Rui’s use of the traditional cultural elements are worthy of recognition. In such a special social environment, we are in face of a multi-cultural situation, and we can also borrow from the traditional culture which has an independent character and various choices. This is the inevitable result of the continued existence and development of the contemporary literature and the arts. Therefore, deriving from life and books, selecting specific materials from the profound traditional culture is a real way out. Writers should make full use of Chinese philosophy, logic and Chinese-style speech, organize these element skillfully in the work, and have a profound reflection the traditional Chinese culture so that the literature contain a more profound meaning of life and a more lofty pursuit of life.
