JOL is an important aspect of metamemory monitoring; it is great concerned by researchers. The focus attentions are factor of JOL, mechanism of JOL and accuracy of JOL.No doubt, JOL is affected by a variety of factors, for example, the nature of learning materials, study times and coding strategy. But researchers have explored a new factor that affects JOL, which is perceptual information. But previous studies on perceptual information in this field were only about single word, involved immediate JOL, without delayed JOL or effect on JOL accuracy. Therefore, based on previous studies, by manipulating font sizes of double words, this research is to explore the effect of font sizes on JOL and its mechanism. This paper involves two experiments. Experiment1is to examine font size on JOL, and its effects on JOL accuracy. Based on the first experiment, the second experiment is further conducted to explore the course of font size on JOL under the circumstances of immediate JOL. To be more specific, it is to explore the encoding fluency of larger font and smaller font, that is measured by study time. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) Under the circumstances of immediate JOL, font size can affect JOL and absolute accuracy of JOL, but under the circumstances of delayed JOL, font size can not affect JOL or absolute accuracy of JOL.(2) Font size can affect JOL via encoding fluency, because of encoding fluency, JOL and recall together influence absolute accuracy of JOL,...
