Research On Tanghou’s Huajian

Hua Jian, written by the famous connoisseur in paintings Tang Hou, is one of the most important painting masterpieces in ancient China. It merges painting argumentation, appreciation and identification into one whole, and its viewpoints on the methods of painting argumentation, appreciation and identification have great influence on the art thoughts of Dynasty Yuan and the succeeding period of history These ideas contributed to the forming and development of literati painting, as well as its identification, having a profound influence on the modern Chinese painting theories. This paper presents a thorough study of Hua Jian, concretely and mainly includes the following:Introduction:Giving an overview of the purpose of this topic research, sorts out relevant study result of Hua Jian, the aim, significance and method of the study.Part1:A summary of Tang Hou and Hua Jian, introduces author’s historical context and growth as well as his achievement in painting Then sorts out the timing, copyrights and content of Hua Jian’s, aiming at making an objective and comprehensive analysis on the author and his works.Part2:Focus on the methods of painting appreciation, explains the aesthetic thoughts such as "both appearance and spirits""valuable to antique""combine calligraphy into painting".Part3:Summarizing the methods of painting identification in Hua Jian, presents three kinds of identification method photo-illustrated in-depth.Part4:Analyzing Hua Jian’s influence, value and significance to the modern appraisal of calligraphies and paintings。Conclusions:Above all, summarizing the research, analyzes the theoretical and realistic meaning of this article, and give a conclusion to Tang Hou Hua Jian.The research method of this paper mainly uses the literature research method, comparative method, graphic analysis, combined with the appreciation of ancient paintings, in order to better analytical the connotation of Hua Jian.
