The Functions Of Casual Relationship And Goal State On Situation Model Processing

Situation model is also called mental model, refers to the readers according to their mind existing knowledge experience, which is a kind of profound psychological representation, and gets information and situation form text reading and put them integrate to previous cognitive schemata. Situation model represents the event more aspects of the information. It mainly includes multiple dimensions, such as time, space, causation, goal, and protagonist. This research mainly investigates that the influence of the construction situation model form causal relationship and goal state. In order to enrich peoples’understanding of the situation model and further help to reveal the rule of cognitive activities.This research makes narrative stories as experimental material, using moving window and recording the time of recognition sentence technique, the present study is to explore the functions of causal relationship and goal state on situation model processing, using repeated measurement experiment design two experiments, the results of experiment indicated:(1) Causal relationship plays an important role in the information processing, Causal retrospective reasoning can make readers form coherent characterization and make text be easier to understand;but causal anticipation reasoning block the integration of the information, to make the article to read more time-consuming. In the key words of reading time reaction mode, causal anticipation reasoning> no causal reasoning> causal retrospective reasoning.(2) Readers can continue tracking the information of uncompleted goal, and keep firmly in working memory, which promoted integration of the information.(3) Under different causal relationship, the reaction time of goal state are different. In the condition of no causal, the information of uncompleted goal is more easily integrated than completed goal, in the condition of causal anticipation reasoning, the information of completed goal is more easily integrated than uncompleted goal.(4) In different target state, the causal relationship to the impact of the dependent variable is also different.In the condition of completed goal state, causal retrospective reasoning is more easily to promote text information integrating than no causal reasoning; In the condition of uncompleted goal state, no causal reasoning is more easily to promote text information integrating than causal anticipation reasoning.
