Application Of Infographics To Web Interface

With the globalization and the development of information technology, informationdevelops in a speed beyond imagination. The ways people access to informationbecome diversified so that collecting information is no longer a daunting task. Butpeople acquire information quickly and accurately are the premises for development ofinformation expression under this atmosphere of variety of information.Based on that, designers have researched on the information design. The fastdevelopment of information technology and the spreading of the Internet have providinggreat convenient for people to get information they need. However, such informationexplosion also bring pressures to people, they could get lost in this informationexplosion. There is saturation for a person to absorb information, if this margin breaks, aphenomenon called Information overload will appears. Under this situation,Respondents will slow their speed to get information even refuse to accept information,so there will be information anxiety for the respondents. Since that, widely applyinginfo-graphics will solve these problems. From1990s, people are trend to rely onInternet to get information. The Internet has become one of the most important carriersin spreading information. The Internet is huge information container, by what kind ofmethods to combine and coordinate the information to please people to find informationthey want is the main task for our info-graphic works.This paper based on Cognitive Psychology, Semeiology, Communication,Psychology and Cognitology as foundation theories, while using the Artistic Design andVisual Communication Design as guidance principles. This paper has research on theinfo-graphics theory, info-graphics expression, key points of info-graphics design andapplication of info-graphics in web page design to discuss the following aspects:Firstly, how to make info-graphics design in an effective way. Secondly, how toaccomplish info-graphics design in real practice and thirdly, taking info-graphics intoweb page design.
