In the Song Dynasty, there had been many problems of the traditional Chinese Taoism.The immortality of the original methods losing the trust of the people after they had taken somany people’s lives, Taoism was in a perilous position. In the meantime, the Jurchen’sinvasion brought the stretching war and the hardship times. In the turbulent socialenvironment of the Jin Dynasty, there had appeared the Taiyi, Zhenda and QuanzhenTaoism. For various reasons the first two had disappeared in a very short time, but theQuanzhen Taoism had showed the vitality for its many disciples and temples. As theemphasis on the local aristocrats and the intellectual, focusing on unique method to preachsermons with the poetry,recognizing the many drawbacks of traditional Taoism and activelycarry out reforms, so the Quanzhen school of Taoism developed thriftily. The Wang’s poetrywas studied in this background.The first chapter introduces the basic situation of Quanzhen Taoism and Wang chongyang’s life and ideas. These two problems have been due to the emergence of literature, sothe discussion is relatively simple. Focus in this chapter is why the poetry can be the mainmethod of preaching. The answer of this question can summarize as mystery religion, therelatively low cultural level of the objects, and the widespread vulgar word of Liu Yong.The second chapter introduces the subject of Wang’s poetry, including exclamation,thought teachings, and practice. Only in the accurate and detailed grasp of the content,Wang chongyang can be understood more objectively, so as to the various features of hisreligious poetry which is different from the traditional literature. In this chapter, his poetrywas in quantitative analysis with form as a supplementary means of expression.Chapter III discusses the characteristics of the art of poetry. As the sudden emergence ofschool in the history of ancient Chinese traditional culture, Wang’s works have a distinct,unique personality in the arts, such as the types of his works, the feature of the lyricpoetry, the Chanting Poems, the images and the language. Meantime, summarizes thehistorical influence in arts.
