The Theoretical Evolution And Inlfuence Of The View Of Art Truth

In the time of Art simulacra, art truth becomes a very important problem again. From thepursuit of likeness of imitation theory, the active reflection of objective reality ofrepresentation theory, nowadays, simulacrum theory throws reality. What are the changes ofthe art truth, which is the consistent pursue of art? Can we govern today’s art reality with thetraditional criterion? These problems are worth our consideration. By researching the differentstages of the development of art truth, this article specially analyzes the new changes of arttruth in the simulacrum setting, and tries to give people a clearer realization of the art realityin the setting of postmodern simulacrum.This article consists of six parts.In Preface we introduce the achievements and disadvantages in study of art truth, anddiscuss the necessity of studying the art truth in the present.Chapter One analyzes the three stages of the development of art truth. They are imitation,representation and simulacrum. From two aspects of the investigation of etymology andhistorical formation vein, we contrast the three stages of art truth and analyze the differenceamong them.Chapter Two analyzes the situation of art in the vision of simulacrum from literary texts,literary creation and literary acceptance. Present the overall situation of art and discuss thenew changes of art truth in simulacrum time.Chapter Three, Four and Five combine current hot issues of art, from the view of newchanges of art truth, review the problems of “the end of art”, the movie and TV adaptationfrom literature and reality TV show. We find that the traditional theory of art truth is tottering;the hyperreality is occupying dominant position. The development of art truth shows thetendency of diversification.In Conclusion we attempt to make predictions of the development of art truth, andconsider that the position of traditional art truth is weakened, in the other side the dominantposition of hyperreality still waits for test. Therefore, we think that it is not appropriate togovern today’s art with art truth standing on traditional elitism ground, or to cover it withBaudrillard’s hyperreality.
