As a French fierce postmodern theorist, Baudrillard's theory of semiotic cultural aesthetics with anthropology tendency represents his unique style. In the vision of social transformation, Baudrillard integrates the semiotic theory and the research of modern society transition by the means of semiology. Baudrillard explores both of their changes with the posture of symbol ontology.Baudrillard constructs two dimensions of modern social change by semiotic consumption theory and semiotic simulation theory. The two dimensions explain the new challenge and crises both semiotic combination of consumer society and semiotic simulation of simulation society bring. Subject consumption is the sign consumption, which is the identity of the display, the status of certification, the advertising personality. Commodities in the consumer society as a code are being manipulated, which makes the loss of all material goods, and become codes manipulated by power discourse. Powers Signify commodity to organize and evolve signs value arbitrarily with the aim to continuously stimulate and induce human desire. These get away human consumption from the practical value and make human immerse in the endless expansion in an inextricable dilemma. Baudrillard proposes political economy critique theory to transcend Marxism critique theory that is based on production configuration society. In the critique of signs, baudrillard's simulation theory is doing more thoroughly than his consumer theory. In Simulation society, the proliferation of electronic media caused virtual reality which eliminates boundaries between simulation and reality, truth and falsehood, beauty and ugliness .The explosion of information makes people no choice, unable to distinguish between genuine and fake. Human emotion hides in signs and mankind is faced with crisis of becoming signs and falling into the nullity. In this regard, Baudrillard claims the symbolic culture that is related to original complex to save the world in which the emotion, the sense of judgment and the pursuit of value have removed. The symbolic culture rebuilds a humanity cultural realm which is intimate, romantic, and inverse of each other. This thesis explores the connotation which is in Baudrillard's semiotic consumer culture, semiotic simulation culture, and symbolic culture which is the antithesis of semiotic culture. This thesis also analyses antagonism conflict between semiotic cultural and symbolic cultural with a view to explore Baudrillard's unique aesthetics characteristics of semiotic post-modern culture theory , and do some soul searching to the contemporary cultural conditions.
