The objective of the research is striving to set up a scientific theoreticalframework of the poetical flavor. The essence of the poetical flavor of Song dynasty asthe research subject has been studied intensively from multiple aspects. The thesisconsists of two parts.The first part is the introduction. The course of ‘poetic taste’ has been sorted,mainly focusing on the development and progression of poetical flavor before Songdynasty. It is the primary period of flavor during the delicious flavor becomingaesthetic flavor in philosophy field and social fields and aesthetic field. The Wei andJin Dynasties were a turbulent epoch, but were referred to as the formative period ofpoetical flavor, starting from Luji. The poem Critique of Poetry of Yu zhengrong hadrelatively rich essence of the poetical flavor. The Grades of Poetry by Si kongtu inTang dynasty had reaching to the prosperity period of poetical flavor, in which‘poetical taste’ had been deeply presented but dimly discussed. During Song dynasty,poetical flavor were widely spread, and the essence of the poetical flavor of Songdynasty had been studied intensively from multiple aspects to grasp the essence of itprecisely.The second part as the main body discuss how the theory of poetical flavordevelops during the Song dynasty. It collected and analyzed feeling flavor, interest, flatflavor, lingering charm and aftertaste from the theory of poetical flavor as well as theirtypical works and states the theory of the poetical flavor systematically on the basis ofextracting the essential part of the works for supporting the topic of the thesis. Songdynasty had been regarded as the developed period with rich essence of poetical flavor.The chapter one is the meaning of feeling flavor. Zhang jie believed that real feelingaccompanied by wonderful taste, that is to say, the lasting appeal reflect the feeling ofthe poet. The chapter two is the relationship of interest and poetical flavor. Theviewpoint that poem extracting from the deep interest had lingering charm waspresented. The chapter three is the relationship of the flat flavor and poetical flavor. The essence of poetical flavor was insipid but worth to be cherished. The chapter fouris the relationship is the relationship of lingering charm and poetical flavor. Thepoetical flavor could be presented with the everlasting existence of lingering charm.The chapter five is the relationship of aftertaste and poetical flavor. The implicitfeeling of discussing the meaning of baishi’aftertaste and framed aftertaste.It sums up the theoretical connotation of diversified poetical flavor.
