Hallidy’s systemic functional linguistics raise three metafunction theory,summarized as ideational metafunction, interpersonal metafunction and discourse functionswhich can reveal the internal relations and the role of discourse. Because lacking ofconsiderations for the research, using these three metafunction for researching the newsdiscourse is a good attempt.In the concept of functions, three types of news discourse are material processes, thenthe relationship between process, followed by the process of speech and the presence ofprocesses, psychological processes and behavioral processes.Environmental componentdistribution is generally consistent with an environmental component in the table of time andspace occupies an important position in the composition of the whole environment a numberof other environmental components accounted for a small proportion; The active voice, theproportion was significantly greater than the passive voice more than the proportion.Interpersonal function in the three types of news discourse, given the role proportion is muchgreater than the proportion of the strike role, the exchange of information the proportion ismuch larger than the ratio for exchange of goods and services; A very large proportionaccounted for by the present indicative, the imperative mood also occupy a certain proportionof the interrogative and amazed tone, the proportion is very small.
