Xinjiang Province is an important hub of the ancient Silk Road, and it has asplendid history and culture. There are many stone inscriptions recorded many majorhistorical events of Xinjiang, they are important evidences of our Western history."JiangXingben’s Monument" was carved in the Tang Dynasty in A.D.640when Mr.Jiang with people in the Tianshan makes weapons for preparing to attack theGaochang city. The monument established near the Tianshan Pine Pool, it is stillrelatively intact. And its inscription is longer than others, the writing also is vigorous.So it is the rare documentary essays and historical documents.There is an ancient legend with this monument that if someone copies thisinscriptions, it would have been snow off heavily. Coupled with the long distancesbetween the mainland and Xinjiang Province, they caused to there are less rubbings ofthe monument in the early Qing Dynasty. As the convenience of traffic and getting ridof superstition in Republic of China, the rubbing of the monument was brought intoinland. Though the number of rubbings is relatively small in early Qing dynasties, theQing Dynasty stone class writings, as well as the Northwest Borderland History andGeography book are all involved in the monument. And several well-known scholarresearched this monument, such as Mr. Luo Zhenyu and Mr. Qian Daxin`s writings allincluded this inscription."JiangXingben’s Monument" is an indispensable research about the political,military, cultural information in Xinjiang Province during the period of Zhenguan.The inscriptions of this monument not only describes the scale of expeditionary forceof the Tang Dynasty, but also included the description of troop. And the inscriptionalso describes the siege weapons. These are all re-created real screen of the war in theGaochang city.By the Analysis of "JiangXingben’s Monument", we can see the names of somecities in western area in Tang Dynasty, such as " Kushetudaba", it means there is a monument in this Ridge. For another instance, it appears many names of cities"YanRan, Yiwu, Shiluoman Hill ", they have different versions and can be seenchanges of place names through the writings of different periods.Although the research on this Monument in the above-mentioned aspects hasmade such a success, the study on detection of forgeries and corrections of inscriptionis still relatively little. By study on "JiangXingben’s Monument", it will make"Monument Research" to flourish. The historical research and value analysis of"JiangXingben’s Monument" is benefit in objective historian Analysis of thismonument. It provides a full and rich historical evidence of research of NorthwestBorderland History and Geography.
