To explore the factors which affect Stress-related Growth of university students, especially event characteristics and coping style.1000university students complete SRGS (stress-related growth scale) and CSQ (coping style questionnaire), to select one adaptive self about greatest stress-related event to self in last12months, style and idea of dealing with dairy routine, changes of mentality after stress-related event. Data collected is handled by SPSS17.0.Results are:(1). gender and age affect Stress-related Growth, the females gain more Stress-related Growth than males, and there is a negative correlation between Stress-related Growth and age.(2). Stress-related Growth is positive correlated to stress sense of stress event happening and present stress sense.(3). Stress-related events which university students face with, the first is academic pressure and worry about future after graduation, the second is interpersonal relationship including family relation, friends relationship, lovers relationship et al, the fewest is diseases, accidents and pass away of important persons.(4) totality Stress-related Growth is positive correlated to solve the problem and for help of factor in coping style questionnaire, but isn’t correlated to another4factors:self-accusation, fantasy, retreat and ideal.(5) Stepwise multiple regression showed:the effects of gender, age, type of event, coping style to t Stress-related Growth are very obvious. University Students’ coping style is solve the problem and for help in the face of interpersonal stress events (family problems, lover and friends relationship). Retreat is used to coping of diseases, accidents and pass away of important persons, but not conducive to growing. Contrary to retreat and ideal are useful. Solve the problem, for help and self-accusation can Promote Growth from academic pressure and worry about future.Through these data, we can come to a conclusion that Stress-related Growth of university Students is correlated to gender, age, event characteristics and coping, in the face of stressful events, the growth of female students is larger than the male, the younger Stress-related Growth larger. interpersonal Stress-related Growth are larger than inpersonal. As intermediary variable, coping style affect Stress-related Growth:solve the problem, for help, have positive significance to Stress-related Growth, blame self to academic pressure and worry about future after graduation. Fantasy and ideal can contribute to Stress-related Growth of disease or accident, important others died, retreat hinder Stress-related Growth of disease or accident, important others died.
