Relationship Research Between Regional Culture And Novel Creation

The relationship between regional culture and literature is complicated. Regional culture, as a starting point to research the relationship between regional culture and literature, which is not only the traditional topic, but also the new topic. This paper attempts to discuss the relationship between regional culture and novel creation on the basis of two famous Han-style female Wuhan writers, namely,Chi Li and Fang Fang.The natural landscape of the regional culture (four seasons, mountains, river, etc.) and regional culture (customs, dialect, saying, traditional habits, etc.) are the important symbol of nationalization and populization, as well the key factor that whether can literary works handed down for generations. In this paper, we will explore the regional culture from two aspects, regional natural environment and regional humanity culture.The relationship between regional culture and novel creation can be summarized as the following two aspects. On the one hand, regional culture can breed a spiritual character. Characters are the important part of the novel. Prototype in the life refined by the author and combined with the author’s state of mind, through an artistic way of expression, using the text record works to create the vivid characters. These images are imperfect, one-sided, but it has the representativeness.The representativeness generated by the author’s living environment, which is regional culture. Therefore, the characters in the novel in a certain extent subject to the "geographical" areas, more precisely, is subject to a unique regional culture of a certain region.On the other hand, the authors’writing style subtlely affected by the regional culture. It can be said that any writer posses with the unique style and the high cultural taste, almost has a profound and rich cultural origin. Their stories are also bound with a distinctive regional culture. Chi Li and Fang Fang often utilize Wuhan as the background to depict their own art world and their works always reflect a deep sense of Wuhan style.
