Applicability Research Of The Indecisiveness Scale In Changsha College Students

Recently, the research of Indecisiveness focused on its definition, construct and the measurement of Indecisiveness, some scholars in China researched the applicability of Frost’ version of Indecisiveness scale with small sample, and found that the reliability and validity of the Frost version of Indecisiveness scale is reliable. This paper explored the applicability of Frost version of Indecisiveness scale with big sample, and then researched the relationship between Indecisiveness and Big Five Personality, the relationship between Indecisiveness and Career Decision-making Difficulties with revised Indecisiveness scale.In Studyl,550undergraduates in ChangSha were selected as participants for investigating the reliability and validity of Chinese version Indecisiveness Scale, The exploratory factor analysis showed that the scale had two factor, one was aversive, another was avoidant, the cumulated variance that can be explained by the two factors were43.495%; the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the two-factor model was appropriate; There was a significant correlation between Indecisiveness scale and Trait Anxiety scale(r=0.564); The internal consistency of aversive and avoidant were respectively0.712and0.693, the internal consistency of Indecisiveness scale was0.807, after two weeks, the test-retest reliability was0.818. In conclusion, the results showed that Frost version of Indecisiveness scale meet psychometric requirement, it can be used for testing the indecisiveness of domestic subjects.In Study2,65undergraduates were examined with the Indecisiveness scale and Big Five Personality scale to investigate the relationship between Indecisiveness and Big Five Personality. The result showed that there was a significant correlation between them.In Study3,61undergraduates were examined the Chinese version Indecisiveness scale and Career Decision-making Difficulties scale to investigate the relationship between Indecisiveness and Career Decision-making Difficulties. The result showed that there was a significant correlation between them.In conclusion, the reliability and validity of Chinese version Indecisiveness Scale is good, there was a significant correlation between Indecisiveness and Big Five personality, between Indecisiveness and Career Decision-making Difficulties.
