In recent years, China’s cartoon into a high-speed development stage, both the quantity and quality of animation has significant progress, but compared with the United States and otheranimation big country, there are still relatively large in terms ofproduction methods, quality, marketinggap. This paper selectsimportant factor in the success of this decision animationanimated character modeling, comparison and analysis as a starting point of China and the United States animation, the intention of looking for the successful experience of the U.S.animation, and find the problems andthe reasons for the Chineseanimation industry and explore ways and means to break throughChina’s animation difficulties and bottlenecks. This article firstdescribes the basic concept of the animated character andanimation design, analysis of the Chinese and Americananimation respective characteristics and differences in terms ofcultural connotation, creative approach, creative ideas, from theimage of animated characters, cartoon character colorcomparative analysis of three aspects of cartoon charactercostumes on Sino-US animated character from the Sino-UScultural background, economic and cultural strength and originality of the three aspects of reason analysis, and finally from a focus onthe cultural connotation, technical andartistic unity coordinated development, and encourage learning to enhance education,improve the operational mechanisms and to grasp the fundamental meaning of the five aspects of a good animationcharacter design explored the direction of development of theanimated character modeling.
