Shortly after the Opium War opened the door of China,a large number of Western missionaries came to China to missionary work.By the 1880s,the Western powers signed a series of large and small unequal treaties with China through the war, which made the west gradually gain the privileges of free missionary work, church building and consular jurisdiction in the mainland.Meanwhile,Chinese laborers began to go abroad to seek a way for life. The United States has become one of the destinations for the Chinese to take the initiative to go overseas in the second half of the nineteenth Century because of the large number of jobs and the possibility of making a living. With the social and economic changes and development of the two countries, other people in foreign countries are rejected by the local people in varying degrees. This exclusion has gradually escalated with the deepening of the immigration. Finally,in 1880s,the two countries entered the climax of exclusion and exclusion at the same time. This article takes the xenophobia movement in China and the United States as the research object, which is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is the analysis of the American Chinese and Chinese Exclusion background at this time, mainly due to the pressure of domestic economy, the coaxing of American merchant ships, and the United States government to promote the migration of Chinese to the United States in order to recruit Chinese workers to participate in railway construction.Next,it discusses the performance of American exclusion of China, mainly from three levels, and analyzes the influence of the US exclusion movement. The second chapter mainly analyzes the background, performance and influence of China's anti religious exclusion in 1880s.In this period, the main reason for the high tide of the anti teaching anti education movement in China was a series of unequal treaties signed by the Chinese and the powers, and the foreign missionaries obtained the privileges of deep inland missionary, consular jurisdiction and so on.During this period,China's anti religious exclusivity mainly appeared in the form of teaching plans. Then it discusses the influence of anti-Education in China in 1880s,mainly from two aspects:positive influence and negative influence. The third chapter compares the American exclusion movement with China's anti religious exclusion, and summarizes the similarities and differences between the two countries' xenophobia movement in this period.
