On one hand, in order to achieve the original rhythmical effcct to the greatest extent in accordance with the inherent rules of modern Chinese, he suggests replacing foot with dun, with dun as the rhythmical unit of modern Chinese metrical poetry. On the other hand, he insists on keeping the original rhyme scheme, presenting the original appearance of English poetry to readers, instead of domesticating blindly. With the consideration of the complicated situation in translation practice, proper accommodation within a degree is acceptable.It’s naturally drawn that Yang Deyu is an excellent translator who highly integrates his thoughts with practice. His career as a successful translator brings much valuable enlightenment to the young generations in the translation field. The thesis adopts such methods as literature research, textual analysis, comparative study and interview, intending to conduct a relatively overall study on Yang Deyu as a translator.
