Exploratory Study On Necessity Of Ethical Orientation Of Contemporary Design

Based on theory of design, combing with ethics, philosophy and sociology, itexamines contemporary design speculatively, and attempts to put forward the conceptof necessity in design ethic to explore the guidance role that design ethic takes insolving problems of human and nature, resources and society. Analysis of ethicalnecessity has been carried on focusing on designer, design work and critic in designprogress logically, which shows the moral standard and value that contemporary designethic should stick with. Designer should act for heaven to perform moral deeds, focuson the high levels of national self-confidence, emphasize design livelihood, and hasdistinctive thought about whether design adapt itself to international practice. Goodnessshould be the point of starting and ending for design work, avoid technology alienation,emphasize establishing environment to embody user’s dignity and promote his moralstandard. Design critic should avoid misreading of people-orientation, and put forwardconstructive feedback. Synthesize three aspects above, it comes to conclusion thatexploratory study on necessity of ethical orientation of contemporary design will be ofsignificance to examine contemporary design and focus the future in its development.
