The middle of Ming Dynasty is a Buddhism silent period.during this period, Buddhist are mostly lower class people.Buddhist Literati were less than in early Ming.Believers,the Buddhist’s qulity is not generally high quality. In the middle of Ming Dynasty, Neo-Confucianism is still occupying the orthodox position of the official philosoph,with a large number of literati,to oppose the Buddhism.Although this times the Buddhism had many followers, but either clergy or lay members, are not very eminent Buddhist scholar.Compared to Early Ming when have many Eminent monks or Late Ming when have Four Eminent Monks,no doubt is to be inferior by comparison.However, scholars and Buddhist monks are still friends. And there is no lack of famous confucian,Chen Xianzhang, Wang Yangming, Luo Qinshun and so on,and other people have intercourse with monks.They talk with monks about poems and articles, or debate of confucianism. Literati have different sttitudes to Buddhist, both denounced as heresy, the Buddha is intense, also have close contact with Buddhist monks, devout Buddhists. The speech of the scholar-officials who oppose Buddhism is intense, denounce heresy, the people gathered, hiding them, endanger public security; construction of the temple ceremony, excessive, the fat of the people consuming, luring people waste industry, possession of labor, social economy and main effect; monster monk and official collusion, shake rule. Buddhist monasteries’construction were donated by the literati who believe Buddhism.They read Buddhist sutras,study Buddhism’s theory,wright articles to praise the Buddhism promote Ming’s rule. Buddhism and literati also exist economic relationship, and literati would use this relationship to the national service.While Buddhism Have a huge impact on the literati. Literati usually play in the quiet and tranquil Buddhist temples, and Buddhist monks also have poet with scholar-officials. Buddhism have great impact on Mind Academic. Its two masters Chen Xianzhang, Wang Yangming have friendship with Buddhist and Buddhism.They use Buddhism’s words to explain the Confucian’s view, their study of Scripture by the Buddhist influence.Their students also like to research the Buddism’s classic books.It promote the revival of Buddhism in the late Ming dynasty. The influence of Buddhism for the literati literature in this period, mainly for the novel. In the middle of Ming Dynasty Novels" Journey to the west" has contained many Buddhist thought.The literati hold different attitudes to The Buddhism include political factors, academic influence. Since Buddhism’s bad political influence,the integrity scholar-bureaucrat anti Buddha is intense, and some scholar-officials who hope to have the aid from Buddhism to a high position would support Buddhism Confucianism;the scholar-officials who adhere the orthodox position of Confucianism would oppose Buddhism, but those who hold the syncretism of the three religions view don’t firmly oppose to Buddha.In the middle of Ming Dynasty Buddhism’s development also has syncretism of the three religions. The society even appeared Trinity Sect,Trinity churches. Reflect this trend.
