First World Ni Shan Cultural Forum, and flourished in overseas Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms are very strong proof. The ultimate goal is the traditional Chinese culture to the world, to make the world understand China, and let the world understand China’s traditional culture, and to grab the essence of Chinese culture. The important thinking of China’s traditional culture is Confucianism, the essence of Confucianism, the ideas of Confucius, Confucius’thinking from the remarks of Confucius-------"The Analects of Confucius," a book to be reflected. Therefore, the Translation of the Analects of Confucius has an extremely important role in the promotion of Chinese culture. Two thousand years,"The Analects" continue to spread to the surrounding, the formation of a Confucian cultural background in the Asian region. With the missionaries, the two great civilizations of the East and West the intensity of the collision and dialogue, and Confucianism began to spread to Europe and the United States and other developed Western countries, and is accompanied by the translation of "The Analects", there have been many sinologist, the translation of these scholar Europe and the United States recognized the Chinese culture had a definite impact. Ninth, the20th century, China’s door open,"The Analects" has become the focus of concern, and foreign thinkers, writers, translators, etc. Translation and research work in "The Analects".This thesis is divided into five main parts:First chapter, the origin from the topics talked about."The Analects" as Confucian most representative works, explain and carry forward the essence of Confucianism, has an extremely important position in China’s literary history and the history of thought, also played a pivotal role in the world of ideology and culture. English translation of the Analects is great importance for the exchange and dissemination of Chinese and Western cultures. So far, the "Analects" books have been translated by the Chinese and foreign scholars have reached dozens of versions, of which the most representative is the version of James Legge, welay and Liu Dian jue, and their translations represent different cultural level. Three as a comparison object, either a horizontal comparison, a longitudinal comparison, to compare their characteristics and inadequacies. Yang Bo jun "The Analects of Confucius Annotation" Zhong Hua Bookstore as a libretto, by James Legge and Liu Dian jue, Welay the English translation for comparison object to study, explore the features and pros and cons of the three scholars. Then review the history and translation of the English translation of "The Analects"."The Analects of Confucius" as the highest Confucian classic, with a high ideological and cultural value, not only for Chinese culture, and culture of the world has produced far-reaching impact."The Analects" translation and dissemination, especially for overseas transmission, as early as the beginning of the16th century has been translated into foreign language is spread around the world. However, English as the lingua franca of the modern international exchange, the spread of "The Analects" has also played a pivotal role. The second chapter is the translators and the introduction of the translations. The author’s life and educational background and translation characteristics is essential for understanding the characteristics of the translation. First of all, understand the life of the author’s background and educational background. Secondly, understanding of how the translation. These will help us in-depth understanding of the characteristics of a book and its pros and cons. The third and fouth chapters are mainly Legge and Liu Dian jue and Welay "The Analects" English translation of the main object of study through three translators on the translation of "The Analects" chapter in the sentence contrast, experience a different translator, at different times, the identity of different backgrounds, different educational backgrounds translator awareness of the "Analects of Confucius", which reflects the change with the times, people know the trajectory of Confucianism. The study compared the writings of the three translators; I pay more attention to the translator for the understanding of "The Analects" ideological content, and keywords in the "Analects" Translation and understanding. For keywords, I have taken from ancient understanding and analysis of keywords to help understand the text, while drawing on "The Analects of Confucius Annotations" With the awareness of the changing times different keywords, to analyze and compare the three translators understand the specific meaning of the Analects of Confucius. The fifth chapter summarizes the characteristics of the translation, and analysis of the reasons for their success. Legge translation of "The Analects" has significant features:first:borrow heavily from the Analects of Confucius translation of ancient Note insightful and thorough understanding of "The Analects". Second:Legge to take the literal translation, does not change the original meaning, and trying to be consistent with the original format, this point done a good job. Third:Legge comment on homework effort, showing a scholar’s rigorous style of study to give readers a more in-depth understanding of key words. But its inadequacies, is that Legge is a missionary, missionary thinking is reflected in every translation. Secondly, their comment as much as for the crowd is relatively limited, so for the widespread dissemination of the "Analects of Confucius" have a certain impact. Willie’s translation is closer to popularity, the translation is easy to understand, but deviate from the standards of academic paraphrase the ingredients too much, while the error in the original understanding of the "Analects of Confucius". Lau is also a significant feature:DC Lau translation of a modern translation, the perfect combination of Confucianism in China and the English language, and into the academic and popular one, it has a high readability, wider in laying the basis of "The Analects of Confucius" spread. The translation of such gains and losses, mainly due to the following aspects: first, the life time of the three translators, of live in an age bound to be marked with the imprint of the times. Second, the author’s life experiences and educational background and understanding of the translation will vary. Finally, the translator the translation of motivation and purpose will also affect the Annotation of the content and level. Finally, asked by the three translators, translation diversity is an objective existence, and with the progress of the times there will be more translations, but this does not mean that the translations are free to play any misinterpretation. The spirit and finally the original thinking of transation, and strive to reproduce the original ideas and cultural values. The innovation lies in the combination of knowledge and English translation of the history of historical thought, the use of comparative law, the translation method, and the literal translation of an interdisciplinary approach to research. Break through the single-subject research methods; learn foreign language subject research methods. The downside is:the whole study is complicated, and the collection of information is more limited reserves of interdisciplinary knowledge is incomplete.
