Objective To explore cognitive neuropsychological characteristics of false memory(FM)among normal adults of different ages, and to find out the cognitiveneuropsychology of memory changes in aging mechanism. Methods on the basis of neuropshchological background test.(MMSE,VFT,DS,CDT,AVLT included),30subjects aged20to30,30subjects aged40to50years and30subjects aged65to85years old were tested with the method of inducing episodicmemory error with photos.Results1.nerural psychology background test showed that, compared with themiddle-aged and the young group, the elderly group’s scores of MMSE, DS repeatingand repeating backwards, clock drawing test, AVLT immediate memory, AVLTdelayed recall were significantly lower(P<0.05).2. photo-inducing episodic memoryerror test showed that, compared with the middle-aged and the young group, the elderlygroup’s card memory rate (68%±17%) at story recall stage, story composition recallrate (77%±14%) at story recall stage, and the correct recognition rate (73%±12%) atquestionnaire stage were remarkably lower (P <0.05). The elderly group’s memoryerror rate (24%±13%) at story recall phase, and memory error rate (25%±7%) atquestionnaire phase were significantly higher than those in the middle-aged group[(14%±6%),(15%±4%)], whereas the middle-aged group were significantly higher than those in the young group [(8%±7%),(9%±6%])](P <0.05).Conclusion episodic memory declines along with the age growth, while episodicmemory errors rises, both of which may be the main reason for the increase of theelderly’s subjective complaint of memory.
