As a new eco-literary theory, ecological aesthetics has constantly made the academia to realize the shortness of modernization and its huge threat to human survival. Japanese children’s literature writer Kenji Miyazawa was called "a wonderful scene of children’s literary world". The natural scenery of his hometown had made his way of perception and thinking aesthetic. Miyazawa Kenji had described the natural environment poetically by the form of fairy tale. His fairy tales were shaped by the ecological aesthetic vision of local natural prototype, which intrinsically expressed the strong relationship between human beings and nature. This thesis attempts to approach Miyazawa Kenji’s fairy from the perspective of ecological aesthetic, trying to explain Miyazawa Kenji had a deep ecological consciousness in his fairy tales.This thesis consists of seven parts:the first part of the introduction introduces Miyazawa Kenji simply and combines its research. In the second part, describing the development of the ecological aesthetic theory and discussing its connotation. In the third part, analyzing the beauty of natural plant and the "sorrow" beauty of nature, trying to explain Miyazawa Kenji inherit and develop the Japanese traditional aesthetics and beauty conscious. In the fourth part, analyzing the fairy tales to Miyazawa Kenji’s the natural ecological values from two aspects. On the one hand, human beings should respect for nature and take care of the natural things’life, on the other hand, people should integrate into nature and the genetic relationship between man and nature, which reveals the unity of man and nature Miyazawa Kenji’s ecological ethic. In the fifth part, exploring the Kenji fairy’s potential thought ecological aesthetic. And discussing that human centered ideology critique and reflected the living state of the human by the eco-criticism. By analyzing the text to know that criticizing the "anthropocentrism" and reflecting the living state of the human issues a warning to contemporary people. If you do damage to the environment, it will make devastating results. In the sixth part, discussing the formation of Miyazawa Kenji ecological aesthetic ideas, Miyazawa Kenji’s unique childhood habitat and natural habitats of ecological thinking influenced his fairy tales a lot, and the influence of the Mahayana Buddhist culture made him have the view that "all things are equal ".The love of nature and the advocating for laid is the basic tone and style of his literary creation. The seventh part of the conclusion summarizes the thrust of this thesis.Analyzing the ecological aesthetic ideas of Miyazawa Kenji’s could help to broaden the depth of exploring his fairy tales and make us reach a profound ecological and philosophical implication. One the other hand, it helps us to establish the ecological ethics deeply, making us care for the life of other species, and improving the ecological civilization of mankind. In addition, it also strengthens the sense of mission and reality of Kenji Miyazawa’s fairy tales, which could help us to alleviate the ecological crisis that people confront.
