Passive Predicates existences in most language of the world, especially in English and Russian which are rich in formal and have obvious formal markers. While in Chinese, it divided into the ideational passives without marked words and the passives with marked words. As a long history and widely used syntactic structure, The unmarked patient-subject which is active in form and passive in meaning, always makes foreign students confused and causes large errors. By means of Case Grammar, the Three-Dimensional Grammar and Cognitive Theories, we redefined and reclassified the unmarked patient-subject sentences. By making a contrastive study of the condition of generating sentences, cultural connotation and pragmatic functions to find out the differences between English and Chinese, and then explores its existential cognitive-pragmatic motivation.Lastly by analyzing the errors from Questionnaires, Tests and CCL, we put forward some suggestions on compiling of the teaching materials, the Design of practices and Teaching methods for foreign students to study well.
