An Analyse On Li-Changzhi’s View Of Literature And Art-from The Perspective Of Cultural Conservatism

Li Changzhi is a very distinctive critic in the history of Chinese modern literary criticism. As a member of jing-pie, his literary thoughts has the characteristics of Cultural Conservatism, which is embodied in the anxiety of modernity and the maintenance of chinese traditional culture. Emotional criticism is the result of Li-Changzhi’s reflection on modernity. Emotional experience is not only the method of criticism,but also his foothold. The essence of the Conservatism is the Liberalism. Li Changzhi tried to pursue a free sprit of criticism. In response to confusing condition of the critics, Li Changzhi advocated The Stiff of reason. He insisted that literary research is a kind of science, and the critics should have strong feelings. Traditional culture is a very important dimension in Li-Changzhi’s criticism field. Li Changzhi tried to discover the true value of cultural celebrities. It is not only to develop the chinese trational culture, but also to reconstruct the national spirit and resolve the living predicament of modern humans. This paper attempts to analyse Li-Changzhi’s literary thought, from the perspective of Cultural Conservatism.
