With the trend of high technology, many fields are merging with each other. More and morepeople’s life is involved with widespread computers. As a new tool,3D digital technology playsan important role in either industrial product design or visual entertainment. What will happenwhen ceramic art meets3D digital technology?To reveal the virtual world beyond artworks and artist experiment spirit, the article hasexplored the working process of three artists. From Australian Roderick’s toothpaste style3Dceramic printing, to American John’s tea bowl replica, and then English Michael’s interactivitybetween virtuality and actuality experiment, all of them are on the exploring road of using3Ddigital technology to create ceramic artworks. Though the beauty of ceramics by3D digitaltechnology is not stronger than traditional hand made and industrial designed ceramics, it’s maybea new way to the future with ceramics by3D digital technology.
